Our Mission:
The West Virginia Women’s Education Forum (“WE”) is dedicated to enhancing educational opportunities for students in southern West Virginia. “WE” will focus on projects for which the need is most pressing and immediate to help empower our students to succeed in an ever-challenging world.
2016 Projects
Members of the West Virginia Women's Education Forum are investing in three new initiatives this year. Generations Rx is a program to education elementary through high school students on the dangers of prescription drug abuse. Dolly Parton's Imagination Library provides free books each month from birth through age 5 to improve childhood literacy. Ipads for Cabell County high school students that are home bound and at risk for dropping out.
WE is a fund of the Foundation for the Tri-State Community, a 501(c)(3) organization. The Foundation is the only community foundation located in the Tri-State area of eastern Kentucky, southwestern West Virginia and southern Ohio. Established in 1972, the Foundation is an independent, non-profit, tax exempt, philanthropic corporation. The Foundation will hold and administer the contributions made to WE and will use the gifts for the specific charitable purpose voted on at the annual fundraising event.
